The 9th Extended Semantic Web Conference 2012 (ESWC 2012) [1] is a major venue for discussing the latest scientific results and technology innovations around semantic technologies. ESWC 2012 took place in Heraklion, Crete, Greece, from May 27th, 2012 to May 31st, 2012. The mission of the Extended Semantic Web Conference is to bring together researchers and practitioners dealing with different aspects of semantics on the Web. Starting with the 2010, the ESWC builds on the success of the former European Semantic Web Conference series, but seeks to extend its focus by engaging with other communities within and outside ICT, in which semantics can play an important role. At the same time, ESWC is a truly international conference.

Di.me participated in this event on two tracks, namely: the RED Fifth International Workshop on REsource Discovery [2], and the EU Project Networking track [3]. A paper titled: "Discovering Semantic Equivalence of People behind Online Profiles" by Keith Cortis, Simon Scerri, Ismael Rivera and Siegfried Handschuh was presented in the former, whilst a poster about the di.me EU Project was presented in the latter session. This was a great opportunity for dissemination, and for discussions with people working on similar projects and techniques, especially given the conference's focus on Semantic Web technology. There was also a strong interest in dime project, especially in the ontologies and knowledge processing techniques being used by it.
